Straight River Art Festival

Please read the terms and conditions. By completing registration and payment, artists are agreeing to abide by those T&C. Thank you, as always, for your participation in the arts!

Our Mission Statement

Mentoring emerging artists, collaborating with the community and artists, bringing together the community through the arts. We are also passionate about bringing the arts to the public: showcasing the many artists who live and work in our region and bringing work from further afield to a local audience. We feel it's vital to ensure that we support both artists and art lovers and provide a vibrant venue to bring both together. We want to make arts experiences accessible to audiences who love the arts as well as to people who might not have traditionally been exposed to the arts but who would enjoy them!

Why an art festival?

The festivals have allowed us to give a format to artists to show and sell their work, particularly artists who may have needed mentoring to give them the confidence to move into a role as a professional artist, and those who work in isolation and need a venue to connect with the community. We started the festival in response to the lack of an outdoor art event in this region. There is need for an event that all of the people in the area can enjoy and experience the wonder of art.

The festival features talented artists working in a wide range of media. The artists are available to answer questions, provide information about the art and process and, in some cases, provide demonstrations.

The range of work is amazing; weaving to welding, glass to gemstones, clay to carving - and everything in between!
